Whether you’re planning a long-awaited Hawaii vacation or returning home to the Islands, we’re ready to welcome you aboard and help you navigate the travel experience. We’ve partnered with Worksite Labs to bring you convenient, drive-through COVID-19 testing located near select airports.
These lab sites meet the State of Hawaii’s pre-travel testing program requirements, including the 72-hour testing timeframe. The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) nasal swab test is a Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) from a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) certified laboratory.
How it Works
- Schedule and pay for your test appointment online. The time you select for your appointment should not be any earlier than 72 hours prior to the departure of the last leg of your trip. Standard tests cost $90 per person for results within 24 hours and express tests cost $150 per person for results within 12 hours. Please note that every person in your party (five years of age and older) will need to take a test.
- On the day of your appointment, watch this video then drive to the lab site according to the instructions sent to you via email. Be sure to bring a photo ID and your appointment confirmation number with you. You’ll be instructed to collect your sample while staying inside your car and provide it back to the collection staff.
- Standard test results will be sent to you via email within 24 hours after the sample is collected and express tests results will be sent within 12 hours.
- Once your results are received, upload your negative results in PDF format to your State of Hawaii Safe Travels account prior to the departure of the last leg of your trip. We also recommend bringing a printed copy of your results. Upon arriving in Hawaii, present your proof of a negative COVID-19 test result.

FAQs
- The standard test costs $90 per person for results within 24 hours. The express test (available in select cities) is $150 per person for results within 12 hours.
- We use an optimized droplet digital PCR (ddPCR) test for detection of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, for the purposes of meeting the requirements of the State of Hawaii’s Pre-Travel Testing Program. The testing method has approximately 98% sensitivity in detecting COVID-19 infections through a molecular viral methodology.
- This is a self-administered mid-turbinate nasal swab test that can be completed in as little as 30 seconds. Guests will perform the self-collection while under supervision of the health care provider, an adult or guardian will perform collection for a minor that is unable to self-collect. Click here to view a short video to help you prepare on how to collect the sample.
- Yes, tests are only administered to those who have scheduled an appointment.
- Only one (1) adult (age 18 and older) can be scheduled per appointment booking. An adult may add multiple minors to their appointment time (space permitting). If there are multiple adults traveling, each adult must be booked individually. Please note that the number of slots available is shown next to each appointment time.

- Results will be sent via email. Guest will also receive a text message notifying them that their results are available via email.
- Please use your confirmation email to cancel the appointment. Once you request a cancellation, your refund will be processed within 5-10 business days.
- We strongly encourage you to cancel your appointment ahead of time to open your appointment time for others. “No-shows” will have up to 60 days to cancel their original appointment and receive a full refund. If you do not show up or cancel your appointment within 60 days of your original scheduled test date and time, no refund will be issued. Eligible refunds will be processed within 5-10 business days of cancellation.
